Wonder Woman 3 is in development

Looks like Wonder Woman 3 is in development with Gal Gadot retaining her place in the rebranded DCU. This will mark her sixth time performing as the hero.

Speaking with Comicbook, Gadot spilled the beans that she will not only be starring in the film but also producing the movie, as well, alongside James Gunn and Peter Safran, the co-CEOs of DC Studios. She’s pretty excited to play her again, saying that her role is “close to and dear” to her heart.

“I love portraying Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”

The future of hero in the DCU was murky at best, considering how no Wonder Woman film can be seen in Chapter One of the DCU road map. That said, Gunn has shared interest in bringing to life the character again. Paradise Lost, a Max series, is planned where we focus on the Amazons on Themiscyra. If that one doesn’t intrigue you, perhaps the co-CEO mentioning how he wants to make an animated series will.

If Wonder Woman 3 is feasibly in development, it’ll likely be in Chapter Two of the studio’s DCU road map, which understandably, will take a fair while before all the movies and TV shows trickle out, especially with the actor stoppage that started last month. It’s also worth pointing out that Gadot hasn’t started working on the trilogy film, considering how she discussed it.

Later this month, Blue Beetle releases in theaters and is projected to have a rough opening. Meanwhile, Zachary Levi is on the fence about Shazam’s place in the DCU following the sequel’s failure at the box office.
