TMNT: Mutant Mayhem breezes past big box office milestone

TMNT: Mutant Mayhem

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has breezed past a major box office milestone and is continuing to grow. The teen turtle flick has more time in theaters and has already managed to surpass $100 million.

Collider reports that Paramount‘s highly successful TMNT franchise’s newest entry has managed to clear its own way amid the whole Barbenheimer situation. Managing to situate itself in just enough of a new way to get people flocking to theaters to watch Seth Rogen‘s latest hero picture. On the opposite side, we have Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, which started strong but suffered greatly as soon as Barbie and Oppenheimer hit theaters.

With the budget on the filmmakers’ minds, it seems the rather modest $70 million budget TMNT: Mutant Mayhem had was enough, especially as the film took on a more cartoony, lower-budget animation style, taking a chapter from Sony’s book. Across The Spider-Verse made nearly $700 million with a modest budget ranging from $70-$100 million. Considering films like Disney’s Elemental took things to new heights with its $200 million budget, Mutant Mayhem is certainly a formidable feat.

Paramount’s attempt to reboot the TMNT brand with this new style could prove to be just as successful as the Spider-Verse line, with a few new movies with the same aesthetic and star-studded cast and crew. Outside of Rogen writing and producing, The Mitchells vs. the Machines’ co-director, Jeff Rowe, took the big boy director’s chair.

The cast consisted of Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, and Ayo Edebiri in the main side of things. Paul Rudd, Ice Cube, Jackie Chan, John Cena, Post Malone, and more make up some big names stepping into TMNT realm.
