Star Wars actor lists favorite new Star Wars film

Star Wars

John Boyega, the man responsible for bringing Finn to life, has listed his personal favorite Star Wars films among the sequel trilogy. Much like Harrison Ford, the Force Awakens actor is not scared to share his feelings on his time on-set.

Boyega took part in an interview with First We Feast, where he was asked to rank the three films — that he was in — from best to worst. He quickly accepted the question and went on to list his personal favorites.

He liked 2015’s The Force Awakens the most, which, on top of being an enjoyable film for a fair bit of people, coming in at 85% on Rotton Tomatoes, it was also his debut in the franchise and the return of the live-action film ecosystem for it, as well. So, in the end, how can you not end up feeling some form of nostalgia for the first time you entered a massive franchise? He then felt 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker comes in second, leaving last place squarely to 2017’s The Last Jedi.

He was quick to note that despite his list, they’re “all lovely.”

“Hell yeah I’ll do it. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is most definitely the best. Second, for me, comes Star Wars 9 [The Rise of Skywalker]. And then the worst, in the most respectful sense, is Episode 8 [The Last Jedi]. But they’re all lovely.”

After leaving the film franchise behind, he has criticized Disney for promoting his character extensively, making it out like he was going to play some huge role, only for Finn to get pushed to the sidelines in favor of Rey. This is certainly a valid criticism — introducing black character, making them seen, sometimes in the center or the focus, in a majority of trailers and posters, only to snub them from the leading role.
