LEGO retelling of Jurassic Park heading to Peacock

LEGO Jurassic Park

We’re over 30 years after the release of Universal Pictures‘ mega-hit Jurassic Park, and it seems Peacock has a special plan to celebrate later this year. Specifically, a retelling of the original flick with LEGO blocks.

The official Peacock X page shared a poster for an “unofficial” retelling of the original coming soon. Not much else is known about the special. Considering the use of LEGO, we’d imagine it’ll follow the tongue-in-cheek formula the brick toy adaptations often follow that has led to these specials being so popular.

Considering the two’s strong bond, a LEGO retelling seems right up almost any fan’s alley, especially if they have a soft spot for what we expect to be tongue-in-cheek humor. Plenty of LEGO set tie-ins and a 2015 LEGO game doesn’t just happen with no relationship involved. Creating a LEGO special to celebrate an anniversary isn’t too shocking because of those factors.

As previously mentioned, these colorful bricked adaptations are rather popular, with the latest success being 2020’s LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special on Disney+. Jurassic Park, meanwhile, shows no signs of slowing down, with its most recent entry being last year’s Jurassic World Dominion, continuing the trend of Chris Pratt retaining the starring role.

We don’t know if any of the original actors are poised to reprise their roles at this point.
