First teaser of Good Burger 2 drops

Good Burger 2

We’ve known that cult classic Good Burger was poised to make a return with original stars Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, but Paramount Pictures has finally dropped its first teaser of the movie. Word first got out that the 1997 comedy was getting a sequel back in March.

The film will mix together a new cast of employees with existing members. Outside of the devout Ed, played by Mitchell, and his best bud Dex (Thompson), we see returns of actors like Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell, Kamaia Fairburn, Alex R. Hibbert, Fabrizio Guido, as well newcomers Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg, and Carmen Electra.

What with the controversy behind former Nickelodeon showrunner and the original film’s writer — and side character — Dan Schneider, and the ending of their partnership, the studio saw it fit to replace him with a much less likely to get them in hot water with the role of the burger joint’s manager. Odds are, they’ll play it off like he was hired after the man retired or was given a better position.

Co-writers Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert took charge of the sequel film’s script and are executive producing it, too. Nickelodeon Studios are taking charge with Phil Traill in the director’s seat and Thompson and Mitchell acting as producers, as well.

No crystal clear release yet, but it seems to be gunning for a November — or fall — release to Paramount+.
